Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

I need some help:

I need to create a pipes with some curves, maybe create a unique solid with this result, and finally substract from other solid. I included an image of an example.

thanks for the help

thanks for your help, but when I opened the file didn't show me the same like you. I have the build 0.8.0065. What could be?

I'm using 0.8.0062.  Rhino V4sr9.  I always shy away from using the latest releases as they are inevitably a little bit buggy at first.  David might know what's going on though.  All I can think to suggest is to start at the right end and disconnect components until things look correct and then look at what might be different with the disconnected items.

Thanks I tried different mesh operations (intersect, union and difference) and the solutión was to use Intersect and union :), but no with difference

Thanks again

Hi Jesús, good you asked this question, I wonder how come the solid union of the two pipes gives a funky result... anyway, here is my workaround.

Thanks a Lot, this was a great solution

You're welcome, I think the funkiness is due to a bug in the pipe component (pipes are inside out). I have no time now to investigate further, but my guess is that the Join component corrects the normals, not sure however.

One question, are you doing it for three different 3D shapes additive mixing?

Hi Bipul, I'm sorry but I don't understand your question(s) at all.

I mean, you have taken three solid shapes (one cylinder, and two ellipses), and what is the final outcome, I run this pipeline, and it is giving me a solid shape combination of three different shapes.Sorry, I am new in 3D.

Hi Bipul, the bug in the Pipe component has been fixed for quite a while, so I redid this definition for you to check what is happening. Judging by what you said (no definition atached...) you accidentally used a Boolean Union component instead of a BooleanDifference component. Don't be sorry (no need), read the Primer:) and enjoy GH. (If it is the right tool for you)
