Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I trying to create a smooth loft around a curve. I am creating a list of radii that starts lets say at 8 goes down to 3 then back up to 10 - these I want to use to create a smooth loft, but I am getting a kink right at the turn around (3). any idea how I can fix this? The GH file is attached - any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Oliver

Hi.

I didn't get it but, maybe less profile curves would help?

Thanx for you reply... I should have called it indent / bulge... the surface is not even if you know what I mean

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were going for, but I would look into using a graph mapper if I were you. The reason you're getting the kink is because the radii of the two systems decrease linearly toward each other. The kink occurs at the point at which the radii begin to increase instead of decrease. By using a graph mapper, you can make these values change at different rates. You probably want to map the values to a parabola.

I'm not sure if there's a way to do it in the graph mapper, but I've done it through splitting the list and remapping the values to a new domain. Check out the new file below.
