Slow drawing bug with objects that are far away

I yesterday encountered a weird error with kangaroo which I think is due to Rhino being quite slow about drawing spheres that are far away  (or have large coordinates, not sure which one) (e.g. 1.2*10^15, 1.2*10^15, 1.2*10^15).

Somehow it will take rhino a few minutes to draw 10 spheres with these coordinates; which would never show up in the viewport; with one it would be a few seconds.
