Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I am working a lot with clusters and I have noticed that they slow down the definition quite a bit. There was a discussion on this topic a while ago and I was wondering whether there's been some improvement on this. As an example I have a very simple script that translates text into color values and once I put it all into a cluster it is almost 100 times slower. I am not sure if it is only an issue with clusters or if all components get slower if a definition gets bigger and slower since the script also runs very slow if i just copy it in my global definition, but if run isolated(in a new file) it is a lot faster. I don't seem to get my head around this. What does the running time of a component depend on? Any ideas how I could improve this?

Thanks,

Stefana
