Slider Animations

I'm looking for a quick, easy way to take the BMP's generated by slider animation, and turn them into a movie file. This isn't exactly a grasshopper question, sorry. I've seen David do this on YouTube a good bit. I saw some other posts that said Quicktime works, but I don't own it. Any freeware that you guys like to use for this? Something that will let you control speed without regards to number of input images?

It took all of 5 minutes to download VirtualDub and make a movie. Very simple to use.

I use animation shop from www.jasc.com. I think they have a demo version.
