algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I have been playing with a few different methods of creating textures with sine cures. I am looking at ways to get more manipulation out of my textures. I would like to produce a fully customizable texture. I have tried some attractors but maybe I am not setting them up properly. These are my source images and the most promising function I have created so far.
All suggestions and information is welcome.

Hi Sosa,
I'm working on something like that,
Using a Dave Rutten script found here, I export a tileable displacement/weight map from a sine surface ( a mesh actually).
Next step would be blending two textures together using the alpha channel, like your first ref shows.
As for your second pic, I'd try Spatial Deform.
Renderd with maxwell.
man! dats awsome!!
Fred,
Thanks for your reply. I am going to manufacture this texture onto a curved surface.
I am trying to develop a set of textures that can be applied to any surface.
I have gotten pretty far but still haven't been able to creat more of a attraction type feel.
also would like to have the pattern smooth out towards the edges of the surface.
Unfortunately I was not able to open your definition, get an error when attempting to open it
oops what kind of error?
File was made with gh 0.8.005.
are the upper most pics actually machined samples?
not sure what I'm looking at.
