algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi all,

maybe this is an easy question, but until now I haven't got the answer.

I just want to know how to make a simple mesh faces from polysurfaces? is it possible? if we see image below, it shows that in 1 side has 3/4 faces. how to rebuild them to be one mesh face ?

I tried to make a mesh relaxation model from the initial polysurfaces (image A). but when I changed into mesh, the wireframes looks chaotic, not identical (image B). can anyone explain it to me?

--- image B

thanks a lot!!

anyone help ??

Hi!  zaqifathis.

You'd better predivide your initial poly-surf. like my digram posted with.(A to B)

To do that, you should explode your poly-surf. and sub-divide each face at every intersections of faces.(using split face by isocurve command)

and then rejoin and finally feed to GH def.(Brep container)

If you really want to make equally divided mesh faces, then you'd better use same module grid to generate your polysurf.

see my attached images. Hope this helps you a little.

Hi Hyungsoo Kim,

you mean that after I explode my poly-surf, i must sub-divide in rhino? or could I do it in GH?

but by the way, thank's for your advice. :)

zaqifathis.

Of course you can do it in rhino, but if you are really lazy enough to do this in GH, you can add the upper part of my def. like my image post with.

Have another try! Hope this works out for you.

thank you so much Hyungsoo Kim :D
