Simple Galapagos operation crushes

Hi,

Maybe someone here can help me? I'm new to GH and tried to use the evolutionary solver, but it gets stuck right away and won't run the genes although it's supposed to be a pretty simple scenario.

I want it to find the biggest floor area, depending on the offset I give to the curves creating it:

The problem isn't Galapagos, is that for some slider values it takes a really long time to compute the areas. Although I do not yet know what the problem is exactly, the issue is clearly here:

However I think the real problem is one component upstream, because for certain offsets the Edge Surface outputs really wonky surfaces that fold back onto themselves. Since your input curves aren't touching I would recommend not using Edge Surface at all, since it is supposed to work only on closed curve loops.

I think creating a closed curve loop would be the way to go and then just creating trimmed surfaces would work better (see attached, and hoping file attachments work today).
