shatter curve question

I'm trying to shatter a curve into 2 equal segments . using reparameterize curve and a 0.5 value.. and getting a different result then selecting the "point on curve at 0.5". how can that be? basically I"m getting 2 differrent "middles".

I'm working with an interpolated planar curve.

I guess you should add "Curve closest Point" component, then you'll get the same result.

thanks for the reply.. but why must I look for the closest point? the "t "parameter should be the evaluation of the curve.. so at 0.5 it should be on the middle of the curve.. no?and is there a way to split a cuve by a point? divide curve doesn't give the split curves as outputs.. I would think its basic.
