Shatter Curve doensn´t work - VB or grasshopper?

Hi all,
We have a fully functioning definition for our pavillon which we are presenting at the university next week and only one problem is bugging us:
one shatter component isn´t working at all.
the two lists (curves and parameters) have the same path structure, so data matching can´t be the problem.
still, it divides certain curves for example with only four respective parameters to split at into seven parts.
we´re trying to write this component in VB at the moment but we´re quite unexperienced and would appreciate every help!
still, maybe this is a common problem with an easy sollution in grasshopper...

so where is the image or definition?

I'm having a similar problem.

I'm writing a more comlpicated def than the image attached indicates, but in this simple one you can see the problem.

i want to divide the rectangle into two polyline segments (and then close the curves but that's easy enough).

as you can see, the shatter component gives me a line-like curve and two polyline curves. I think this has something to do with the endpoints of the rectangle, maybe it's breaking that curve at its endpoints as well as at the specified parameters....

any ideas? i know I could cull and join but that seems like a pretty big work-around for a minor problem.

I thought I read something similar which had to do with the curve seam...

I found a hack-y work around, using subcurve and domains to join only the subcurves that 'span' the curve endpt (t=0).

the problem is, the resulting surfaces can 'flip' depending on where my division line hits the rectangle, giving me results like the image above. Ideally the light/dark blue on the two top-right squares would be reversed....

I don't know if I'd recommend this approach, but it works so you can check it out. Basically it's also a bit of a work around using [Region Intersection].
