algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi everybody. I've got some problems with this definition. I'm trying to displace a custom shape copied several times (the star) on a surface. The size of the new shapes must change depending on an image and the sizes must be inside a specific range. I'm doing something wrong trying to remap the domain... and without any doubt i'm taking a long and not clever way to do that... any idea? thank you very much

heres the solution
Hi RR, thank you so much, but there is a problem, maybe I haven't explaned correctly the main aim. I need all the stars and i need to resize tham inside specific bounds, a numeric value that is real. this panel will be laser cutted and i must be shure that the stars don't overlap and that they aren't too small for the cutter. with the remap domain i can control the sizes of the stars but i don't know how to set the dimension to get all the stars for example bigger than 5 cm and all spread minimum by 1 cm... i don't know how to get to this level of control.
(I also had a warning message opening youre definition, may be that your definition did this but I can not see it) thank you again
Hi filippo,
This is based on your definition. Only additions are:
1. I remap the scale factor values before the scale operation (no need to scale 2 times)
2. I added two parts to measure the minimum star diameter and the minimum distance between stars (white groups).
So you can move the controls (cyan group) and you get a feedback of the measurements you specified.
thank you so much is exactly what i needed!
is very complicated, I never would have figured it out alone :)
thank you again
glad this worked for you,
just keep in mind that I might have made it more complicated than necessary, very often there is a much simpler way to achieve the same result which you just haven't thought of.
Good luck with your project!
