Selection of ONE random point in a point region

Try to use "Jitter" instead and select the first item...it should randomize each list. You may want to feed different seeds into the Jitter component...an easy way to do that is to get a list length for the number of subsurfaces you have generating points, and then run a series component based on that...graft it and feed it into the seed input.

The reason will be Longest list Data Matching.

i.e. you have more L than i or the other way around.

Another way to David's jitter approach is to use the [Populate 2D] component but only have a single N

The trick is to get random seeds.
