Selecting the first 2 and last 2 items in a list

Hi All,

I seem to be having a bit of problem I'm trying to select and remove the first 2 and last 2 items in a list. The list could have any number of items in it and so manual selection is not idea. 

See attached definition showing how I have solved this so far, but using subset is not ideal as I would have to manually change the domain every time a different list length was used. 

Any help much appreciated.

Here are a few ways I can think of doing this. I guess the second way is the easiest.
