Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys, I am new to grasshopper and I am so confused in using the commands in the list other than list item. How do I put the points 0 1 3 5 in 1 folder and 2 4 6 7 in another folder? I want to draw lines between them in a parallel manner. I have tried some list commands but still didn't get it. Is there anyway to learn more about how to pick the items that I want? I have been struggling at this. Thank you!

A clumpsy way I use is just using list item and pick one by one

Hi.

You can check this way.

Is there a rhyme to this order? Or does every situation require a custom hand made pattern?

Assuming the pattern is always zig-zaggy this way, you can use a combination of Split Tree, Cull Index and List Item:

And if you want to hand-pick the indices, you can still use Split Tree:

Great thanks David!!! I have never expected so much response in the first place! I will try this out Thanks!

i was trying to create something like a square grid only that every 2 row the grid pattern shifts to the side to create like a "Iwamoto Scott - MoMA/Ps1 Reef" pattern. So thats why i wanted to shift the pattern a bit to look like the reef if you look from the top, to begin to work the rest, maybe lofting?

Hello Alan,

dispatch with true false pattern? depends on the indexes of the points in the list.

What do you mean Alex? I have never used dispatch before.
