algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi I'm wondering if there is a way to select (multiple) paths in a way similar to list item component and others from the SET collection. I don't recognize similar components in the TREE collection.

I have partitioned data into 22 chunk paths and would like to select alternating paths. The branch component allows me to select a single path but I can't figure out how the select multiple paths, let alone in a pattern. Please see attached file.

Thanks

Gavin

Hello Gavin

this could be one way

tree statistics outputs tree branches paths to operate on, where you can apply patterns.

there are also plugins like tree sloth and human treefrog that add functionality components for trees.

cheers

You're looking for Split Tree. It actually allows you to select both entire branches and individual items. Best bit, it keeps the tree structure intact, so it's easy to perform some operation on some data, then merge it all back together again.

Split Tree uses selection masks, which are text patterns that can use both wildcards and specific numbers:

Edit: This post talks about all the possible selection rules.

And here's the old-fashioned way to solve it, before Split Tree came along:

Hey You guys are fantastic, thank you David and Alex. Thank you for the references and  reworked files. I appreciate it.
