Hi RhinoBridges,

 

these scripts run 'getters' in Rhino which requires manual intervention on the part of the user. You typically do not want that inside a Grasshopper file (just imagine being asked the same question over and over again while you drag a slider).

 

I don't really understand what it is you're trying to achieve as the vb code doesn't actually do anything apart from asking the user what objects they want.

Thank you for your reply david,
In fact I would go for some of my colllaborateurs fully transparent grasshopper.
I desire to call a grasshopper by the definitions of the icons, then configure from a toolbox rhino the parameters of the interface via a. Xml files.

 

For my examples, i would like a curve or point udpate aumatic.

I don't quite get it. If you want an automatic updated midpoint, you just need a Curve Length component, assign it to the right curve and use a length factor of 0.5 to indicate the midpoint.

 

There's no need to write any code or xml for this, you just need to create one component. I'm clearly missing something fundamental in this picture though.

Hi David,
You do not understand, I have no problems with the components of grasshopper.
And to find the middle of a point, and this simple.

My request is more complex:
I want to use the definitions grasshopper and their contents from the menu or even in rhinoceroses toolbar.

Application examples:
I run and open a grasshopper definition A. Then I ask in this definition of a selected point and a curve, to start the definition.
I also imagine icons to retrieve the appropriate entities always from Rhino.

Oh I see, you sort of want to package a Grasshopper file into a Rhino command and define a bunch of prompts ("pick 1 curve, 3 numbers and any number of points").

 

I'll need to think about this a bit. It makes a lot of sense but also sounds like a boatload of work.

Hi david,

I will come to you to solve this little problem.
Here is the principle: from a command in rhino grasshopper I open with different options, I open the definition or VB code is present for selected curves and points from rhino.
Then, once validated by the user via another VB code I bake geometry and I close the definition.
But here before the validation I want the curve and the points metrre updated if the user exchanges.

Unfortunately I'm stuck on the part VB.
