algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I have 3 points all on the same spot (bound by rhino).
One point has a circle with radius 4 ft.
One point has a circle with radius 8 ft.
One point has a downward (z axis) line going 48 in down.
I'm trying to place the 8 ft circle (and the point) on the bottom of the 48 in line, but there is no way I have found to 'snap' a point in rhino or grasshopper to the end of the line? I'm used to autocad where everything has an 'endpoint' snap so I'm like wtf.

you could do it a few diff ways. to get the end point of the line, use Curve > Analysis > End Points.
another way would be to make a new pt with a z value equal to the length of the downward line
yet another is to make a vector and move the point downwards...
A Line is a special kind of curve. So is an Arc, a Circle, an Ellipse, a Polyline or even a Nurbs curve. Any component that deals with curves can handle all of the aforementioned types.

well I watched a rhino video and the guy said that a line can be a curve, a rectangle can be a curve, a circle, etc in rhino so i guess they redefined 'curve' to mean shape in this software
Luke, Rhinoceros is based on a set of basic topological concepts. Points, Curves, Breps, and Meshes. Maybe there are others, but these are the base types that everything else is based on. I feel it is much clearer geometrically than say 'shape.' A shape can be a trimmed surface, a closed polyline, a collection of mesh faces. By describing something as a shape we know very little of the underlying geometry that goes into making it. Maybe I just have adopted the way Rhino and GH deal with it, but I think it is very straightforward.
