Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello there,

As usual, I have some trouble with something that it looks very simple...

As per the attached image, I'm trying to rotate an object located randomly in the space. I'd like to rotate it along its normal and , the centre of the rotation is parametric.

How i can determinate the normal of my object?

Thank you

one solution could be the following

instead of the center output of area you can use other point.

another approach would be to construct a plane (plane tab choose one that suits your needs) and deconstruct it to get the z axis of the plane (eg normal)

hope this hepls

cheers

Thank you very much.

At the end I solved in this way (see attachment)
