Hello all, I am trying to rotate in 3d the individual panels of a divided exploded surface(makes sense?)-imagine having a cladding system and need to(extend and then) rotate the panels according to an agent like sun .
I have attached the file...
Many thanks
Happy new year But Why, Precisely?
Just to let you know I managed finally to open your filessssssssssssss!finally!!!!!!
I am setting multiple curves under the first component (curve) but can't visualise it although the loft component is not red or orange and appears to be working....any tips???
yes, they are all set to values greater than one, it seems to be a problem after the surface component component as divide and subsurface are orange. Can I ask you as well unde Options in the loft component why did you place the loft options component? what does it do? I have never used it before....thanks
it does nothing in this case.. ;D I just tried to mess around with it. in other files it can make a difference, though.
when I open the file in the latest GH version, the MD slider that should be connected into the decompose point component at the "beginning" of the definition is missing.. perhaps you need to put that in again - did it for me just now!
ah yes, there's the problem.. you have to put a multi-dimensional slider into the "decompose point" - and not a simple one. with the md slider, you'll be able to divide the surface irregularly in u and v direction.
if you directly connected your slider into the "divide", though, all would work with the normal slider, too.
here's a cleaned version of what I made.. sorry for the long time it took me to post this - you've probably already solved this, but for the sake of wrapping this up, here goes.
note that the quad subsurface creation method isn't really elegant.. a more recent discussion showed an example by taz, which is really more sophisticated - as to be expected! http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/how-to-get-4-usable-pts-f...
