algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I'm looking at creating grid structure like Frel Otto's work (one continuous mesh structure). and i what's GH logic behind it??
would it be different gh definition by doing rectangular/trianglular/polygonal grid??

Note: Some mods are required if you are after "even" (within the limits of possible) quads. K2 could serve on that matter - are you familiar with planarization of quads via K2?

Thanks for reply, that seems too complicated to me, I haven't touch k2 yet as a new user..
I probly posted wrong question, what I actually wanna do is similar to Shigeru Ban's museum project Centre Pompidou-Metz in French. the structure laid on the surface smoothly and continuously.
I tried to do the similar structure with triangular, which sort of works, but there must be somewhere wrong. The structure lines created from the surface are not connected to each other.
I think the logic or method is not correct in this case..
Could you have a look at the attached work and see what is wrong, or do a definition like Centre Pompidou-Metz's structure ?

Hmm ... appears to me that the Metz thingy is kinda the contemporary regulations in Formula1/MotoGP (lost in translation, that is).
By that I mean that the roof appears to comply with classic tensile membrane topology ... only instead of doing the right/obvious thing (call Taiyo Kogyo/Birdair) they did the "WOW" option (add some "" more). That said tensile membranes IS the ultimate in reasonable thinking these days (Mies van der Rohe would be pleased as well: form follows function to the max).

haha! interesting saying "right thing wrongly". Tensile membranes should be the ultimate when doing large scale project. Metz is more like a thick skin supported by the timber structure..

Part 1:
Let's start a trip to a rabbit hole (many entries, no exit): There's a way (using Starling add-on) to create "some" approximation of a minimal surface usually derived via patch (God help us) on a boundary and some holes.
Note: I've mentioned God ... because patch (either using Rhino or GH) is a "bit" temperamental. I could provide a C# thingy that does this "automatically" ... but is quite probably off-topic here (not a new user task).
All that since you find K1/K2 a bit "complex" (but in general Kangaroo is rather the best add-on that GH has to offer not to mention the open nature of K2).
The bad news are that from that point and on ... you'll need K if you are after placing "patterns" (== the art of pointless if you ask me) in a minimal surface (or something that mimics a minimal surface).
The ugly news are that a thing that mimics a tensile membrane ...
