algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Just wondering if anyone is aware of a ribs definition that gives a flat bottom on the rib profiles? I'm creating forms for vacu - press so need the flat bottom. In these examples I'm using the Orthogonal Ribs Machine from Quitronic.
Thx

this was posted over in the "samples and examples" section. I did some minor modifications to use it to do something very similar to what you are doing.

There are a bunch of great examples of similar concepts throughout this site. Try using google to search the site, using key words like "ribs, grillage, waffle".
In this case, you would type ribs, grillage, waffle site:www.grasshopper3d.com

attached are example files.

Thanks, I must have found every one but this.

I had to do a bit of work to get this going (all components disabled, transmitters not working) but I did get it working. I'm getting a weird result though where the x and y ribs don't intersect.. Any ideas? Here is my saved definition and a screen shot.
I'm using 7.0035

thx

That definition was created in .6.059.  I am away from my GH machine but I will take a look later.
I hope the receivers were just disabled!
Thanks, I checked and I don't think you can disable the receivers..
Any component can be enabled/disabled.  Although not all can be enabled/disabled via the right click context menu.
By looking at it, it will appear dark grey.  If you select it, (or any other component), then click the enable button in the tool bar,( looks like a vertical rectangle),
It will enable.  I won't be able to look at the file until tomorrow but maybe you could try to go back to the sample files, open them, select everything in the GH definition and enable (via the toolbR button, not right clicking)
Why didn't I ever see that? Anyway, everything's enabled but still no luck ribbing a new polysurface. I have all the layers turned on but not sure what to preview other than the tags?

Thx
does the definition work when you use the sample GH and the sample Rhino file?

(with appropriate components enabled?) If not, then I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm by no means an expert so it may be something simple, but is the original geometry a closed brep? This definition won't work with a single poly surface.

An easy test is to draw a base plane in rhino, (under your surface). Extend the base plane up through your polysurface, then run a Boolean Differnce command, (In rhino), to create a solid. Then reference that into GH and see what happens.

Beyond that, I guess I'll have to jump to version .7 and see what's different.
No the definition doesn't seem to work but I traced it out and found the solid intersection component isn't creating all the intersections. The extruded surfaces just before it in the definition preview fine so itseems to be something with the SInt component.
