Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm an architecture student and I just got introduced to Grasshopper. So after a few research on how to do ribs/waffle and tried many different files and I cant get it to work. So I am looking for someone to be kind and mind sharing the "formula" on how to make the fabrication design like the picture attached.

I'm not copying the design of it, I just curious on how to do that design on grasshopper.

Thanks

WB

The Region Slits component might be useful:

So, by using this definition, I need to change the dimensions and stuff manually? Because I didn't see any sliders in the definition. Anyway, Thanks for the info.

Yes, I just set it up quickly to showcase the Region Slits component. You probably need an entirely different approach to generating your elements anyway so there seemed little point in making that part of the file customizable.

This example was helpful because I've been struggling with the RSlits component. With certain cases, the component generates an error, "Shape must be a planar region", when the input curves are identified as Closed Planar Curves within a Panel. I've used the exact same profile in the example above to revolve the surface further and reproduce the error. Why does this error occur?
