algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys,

I'm up to learn low poly modeling tools...what do u suggest between Rhino+ T-splines & Maya?

I'm currenlty using Rhino 5..and I know it is really powerful tool (considering that u can use Grasshopper+Python+T-Splines)....and all arch offices are mainly using Rhino.

On the other hand..I heard that Maya for low poly modeling is much more felxible, complete & fast then T-Splines....

What is your opinion?

Since you ask in a Grasshopper forum, I assume you are comfortable with the way Rhino works and is integrated with scripting tools such as GH.

I don't know about Maya, but T-Splines is a really good addition to Rhino. T-Splines handles just the way, you're used to with Rhino5. On the other hand, T-Splines is "just" a smoothing operation on the poly-model. I have a little experience in 3DS Max and the modelling tools for polygons were way more refinded and powerfull than what you'll find in Rhino+T-Splines

On the other hand, (once again, I don't know about Maya) T-Splines produces watertight NURBS surfaces while the typical polygonal modeller produces meshes. So it's like T-Splines is vectors and poly-meshes is bitmap... really depends on what you need.

You should download the demos and try for yourself.
