algorithmic modeling for Rhino
hello,
I am a new user of rhino /grasshopper, using rhino beta, and "rhino evaluation" with bootcamp. I have tried a few tutos online for rhino, but they give windows keys such as "f9", which do not exist on a mac. I have not yet tried with grasshopper yet, but I suppose this situation might happen too.
could anyone be nice to give some hints for replacement?

Another question in regards to rhino 4.0 or 5.0,
would you advise to wait for the newest version to buy the student license?
thank you very much for your answers,
all the best

for the function keys press 'fn' plus the key OR use the BootCamp control panel keyboard settings to switch this.
'fn' + backspace = delete
I've been using Rhino 4 / 5 + Grasshopper on boot camp since 2009 professionally on a MBP 13" and has been great.
There are several choices:
Hold down the 'fn' key while tapping F10
Type 'PointsOn" in the command bar
Click the "PointsOn" icon in the toolbar (usually my choice, I'm very mouse-oriented)
In the Edit Menu: Control Points->Control Points On
Note that EVERY command has several options like this. Which you use is a matter of personal preference.
Like Luis said, you can use function keys on bootcamp if you want, either use the 'fn' key or set it up however you like in the Bootcamp control panel. But there are always alternatives to function keys (a menu item or etc.), you don't need function keys to use rhino or grasshopper.
I have also been using Rhino/Grasshopper professionally on BootCamp for several years, with no problems.
Welcome to
Grasshopper
