algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Grasshopper profs, another question please..

I am trying to experiment with the layout of the buildings (rotate them at certain angles)on this map and wonder how may i restrict the buildings to extend through the road line or it reach it if it doesnt

(basically i want it to be fitted within the boundaries of proposed building site. Please advise and see image please. if i am not clear please let me know.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you just wanting the buildings to be perpendicular to the street? Which would be roughly in line with an axis running from the center of the city to the building?

Brian thank you so much for your reply. I am looking forward to test building orientations within the set boundaries. These are 3 option I would like to test(1. parallel to the road, 2.cross-parallel to road , 3. focused to sun path. but all of these i need to be within the boundaries of land( not the road) thank you Brian, does it make sense? please advise I have attached images and GH and rhino file :))

Does this make sense to you?

so you can do row by row, okay that makes sense - may i ask how you plug in or quickly create boxes in set areas? i know that you can draw curves in rhino and extrude them in gh and link- but before that I look at your script( thank you for it) it has box component- how do you create it in needed space quickly and multiply it? thank you in advance, thank youuu Joseph

Do these slight changes make sense?

Thank you Joseph, played with it, but angles are super confusing as they get stuck in one place. confusing which one is which.

i think there should be quicker way to make it? as i got then multiply them into every single row around the center( as per image) and rotate every single one manually? it takes ages really now. i believe there should be something easier without overlapping boxes and not letting them to enter the road.

Yeah, that's not quite what I had in mind.  There are many ways...

Thank you Joseph, wow this is exactly what I was looking for, this covers my option

This one is just perfect thank you so much.

May I ask you to look at if it is possible to orient all of this buildings to specific point( attraction point- sun point)  as per this image and then have them all focused as different angles concentrated  to one point

above oriented to sun point at one angle.

above oriented to attraction point at different  angles.

Thank you so much

Ana

Of course it is possible.  Again, are you here to learn or just to get others to do your homework for you?  Please don't create multiple threads for the same topic!

haha, makes sense, but this is something i cant figure out since I worked out how to do attract point but it is random and doesnt orient to one set point. i am trying it on my side to do this. Thank you Joseph anyway - i wish i would have tutorials relevant to this kind of stuff, but i would get stuck somewhere in a middle and would make sense where i did something wrong.:)

You have the tools to rotate the buildings in my last post, either around the division points or each building's volumetric center.  Of course, that encroaches on the roadways...  And you have to determine the rotation angle(s) based on sun position...  Seriously, if you can't figure some of this out for yourself, you're in over your head and it's not your work.

P.S.  'Volume' is compute intensive so if you don't use its 'C (Center)' output for rotation, you should delete that component.

thank you Joseph, I will try follow your suggestions, I have managed to flip them before your messaged but yes they were overlapping with roads, i tried to extract points as didnt know how to create a new origin to the boxes around which they could rotate, i will give a go and try to search:) thanks for your feedback and support gave a good kick to go further and try :)
