algorithmic modeling for Rhino
The quad panel tool is great because seems to behave as a 4 vertex overall surface (4 outer corners) with u and v subdivided interior untrimmed panels over the top. The resulting Panel System can be mapped to a separate larger surface that is divided with the parametric truss tutorial technique (surface to divide domain squared with isotrim, etc.). My goal however is to customize the paneling in the quad panel tool to specific dimensions and even perhaps odd numbers of panels. I found that I can extract the panels from the result of the LunchBox Quad Panel tool with a bunch of List Items and then do Scale NU on individual panels and also Move them. Oddly, this works fine in the U direction of Panel System, but Scale NU in the V direction set to anything other than 1 gives strange results when the Panel System is mapped to the larger surface.
Any plans for a more dimensionally controllable Panel System creation tool (allowing irregular but specific paneling) or any idea how to solve the above problem when modifying results of the current Quad Panel tool?
Thanks.
