remove panels in a chess like pattern

Am trying to remove panels from a simple panelization done with lunchbox in a way to have panels alternated and shifted at the same time in each row, easier to say, as in a chess board.

Anyone can help?am struggling with cull components but am probably not so skillful with tree data and I cannot get what I want.
