Thanks for the idea. I tried it out and thought it was very smart!
Encountered a scenario where the points don't quite get in the right order and was wondering if you had any thoughts how get around it.
Personally, I will use a centroid to draw vectors from every point that will hit the circle at curve cp, this way you wouldn't have points that accidentally go to the other side.. I think.
