algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I am trying to reference in a single 'joined' polysurface using the 'Surface' Component...all edges on this surface touch & there are no gaps.

The idea is to copy/move this surface a few times without the need to set my move list to 'Cross Reference'. I am looking for a very 'light' and efficient way to bring in complex geometry. Right now the 'surface' component is orange...some kind of error when trying to select the joined poly-surface. When the polysurface is exploded I can select 'multiple surfaces...but then I am forced to set my 'move' component to 'cross reference'.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Here is the actual .3dm file...maybe it gives a clearer idea

check out the geometry input thing from the parameters tab, in the geometry subsection.
it's no longer a surface, it's a polysurface, actually a brep (check this out in the mcneel wiki or rhino help).
the surface input node only accepts pure surfaces, or whatever you'd like to call them (or just one face of the brep, not a brep).
Hi Matt,
The reason it turns orange when you try to reference in the polysurface is because you are trying to add a polysurface (or Brep) into a 'surface' parameter component. The surface container doesn't recognize the Brep type (even though in theory, a Brep is just a collection of single surfaces). It would make since then that when you explode the polysurface and then reference in all of the individual surfaces into your surface parameter... everything works fine (although you will have to use the cross-reference algorithm). If you want to bring the Brep into GH, you just need to use a Brep parameter (container) under the Params/Geometry/Brep. If your object is indeed a single joined polysurface, then you shouldn't have to use the "cross-reference" algorithm in the move component.
