re-engineering SPANISH PAVILLION 2010 shanghai expo

hello, im trying to re-engineer the spanish pavillion 2010 shanghai expo. so far, i have lofted a curve of a similar form and divided the surface. how do i attach to each point a lofted geometry of my own choice? in other words i instead of dividing a surface and covering it with spheres or other geometry i would like to cover the surface with a geometry that i have lofted together.
