algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello , I have a set of polylines and I want to randomly select some of them ,

but the random selection needs to be more possible in certain areas, as if it was attracted by an attractor .  I would like to control this attractor's strength 

Does anyone have any ideas how this could be done?

You need to combine a random and a non-random component to have a falloff which is both controlled and random. See attached for one example.

I already have the points ( the points are not random) and I need to randomly select some of them  , but I quess this will also work in my case, I just need to adopt is a bit.

Maybe something like this? It's very simple but You can get the idea. There is shared strength for every attractor and it prevents double attraction when areas are intersecting.

EDIT: Meh, I just noticed that i made it for 2 attractors and you cannot easily add more but still you can get the idea.

I can see your idea and yes that is more likely what I was thinking, but in the definition I cannot see the actual selected points. Am I missing something ?

Hi Mateusz , the thing is that I have a list of points (lets say 1000 points) that are already defined and I want to randomly select the 200 of them, giving a higher possibility of selection in some areas.
In your definition I see the areas of attraction, but I cannot see the points that are finally selected .
Unless you mean that the points inside the circles are the ones selected.

Yes, that's how it works, it chooses points inside circles. I don't really know what exactly you want to achieve (any example?) so it's hard to help :)

I guess David Rutten's  suggestion is closer to what I was thinking. Its fine dont worry, I can slightly modify David's def and it will do .
