Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

here is what i would like to do: take a volume of 3d points and then constrain them to a regular x-y grid. this would leave only the z distance random.

the problem seems to be that using pull point i end up with 5 times as many points as i started.

thanks.

mh, is that what you are looking for?

not exactly but it is a good solution. i was looking to generate random points and move them to an x-y grid. the way i have done it is to pull the points to a grid but i then end up with points outside my volume and with 5x as many points i started with.

another solution may be to decompose points and then set the x and y to be on some multiple (5,10,15,20..).

thanks
