Questions about pixellisation

Hi,

I am currently in a class to learn how to use Grasshopper...

I have a work to do for monday which I have no clue how to realise. Basically, I have to find how conceptors of a project use parametric architecture (in my case, I chose the Frog Queen by Splitterwerk.

I have a cubic building divide in 25 x 25 squares of 10 different shades of grey. Those shades are generated by a diversified ornementation. I am wondering if it is possible (and how) to set something that would say ''if a square is that tone of grey, change it in that type of ornementation''. I'm wondering if it is also possible that the shape was made with another set than pixellisation. If it is possible that they made 4 big X and that the pixellisation is set by their proximity to those X (closer it is to the X darker it is).

I'm really in trouble right now........ Help would be really appreciated.

Hi Laurène,

There are two components that you want to use for these processes. [Image Sampler] to interrogate an image at specific reference points and [Pull] which measures the distance of your reference points to specified geometry.

[Image Sampler] can give you a range of readings including colour and Brightness. Double click the component to gain access to its toolbar.

[Pull] will find the nearest geometry whether points, curves, surfaces or Breps and return the distance to the closest point.

For an example of this in use see the attached file.

Hi Danny,

Thanks a lot for your quick answer It is really appreciated. I saw another way to do it without adding shades of grey around the basic X. The thing is, when I'm trying to generate an image, I just can make it with attractive points. I would prefer to have lines so it would be easier but I dont know how to do it... Is there any attractive lines ?

I don't know if what I did is right, if you can help me, it would be really nice from you. If not, thanks again for your precedent answer.

0.8.0053 is it releasased yet?

There was a small issue resolved very shortly after the Release of 52 and David posted the dll in a zip folder. You wouldn't notice any changes on the on the surface apart from "Create" added to the Menu, which allows me to assign a shortcut to the Keyword Search Facility.
