algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello, I'm relatively new to grasshopper and I'm working on a proyect about modelling a protective knee sport pads using the bone matrix structure. I know how to make a bone-like structure using voronoi3, but only works in a box shape. Is there any way to convert a more complex solid geometry into a voronoi?
What i have done is the following:
But when I connect to voronoi, it doesn´t follow the geometry:
Then, if that worked I could use _tsPipe to convert the lines to pipe and _tsSmooth to make it smooth, but it fills all the box, not the mesh
Thanks

Thank you Michael, but it seems to me that there is no decent way to do that because lots of people need to make a voronoi 3d using a irregular shape as boundary but haven´t seen a good answer yet
So many people have done this that is already a boring topic. I think you have not looked hard enough.
From the voronoi in a box you can cut the cells the way you want, and wrap the edges in mesh with the way you prefer. The easiest way is by using Cocoon, you can try with Exoskeleton or if you know how to sew meshes, implement your own method.
The first link I sent does it in 6 components. Is that not simple enough?
The attached file might help you, but you need to install the WeaverBird plugin first. The good stuff happens in the right-most GH Cluster. WeaverBird lets you round off angular shapes and edges and results in much more organic shapes.
