algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I posted a question earlier today about Custom components when what I really need help with are Clusters.
I have had only spotty success being able to create them recently and I can't for the life of me figure out what is going wrong.
The file below lays out a definition that works prior to Clustering and just below it are several stages of creating a cluster... with the actual Cluster at the bottom.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have several Clusters that are more complex than this that I would love to condense. This was supposed to be the easy one to start with... humbled again.
Thanks

Same answer, looks like its working using String component instead of Panel, weird.
Systemig,
Thanks for taking a look.
How did you get it to work with Strings?
I tried using strings to input the data, but I got the same problem as before...
So I used strings leading into the Cluster Arrows prior to remaking the Cluster and that didn't seem to make a difference.
Are clusters just buggy and that is the issue? I can live without them if that is the case... I just keep thinking I am missing something.
Thanks again for the help.
I replaced all the Panels in the definition with String params and I still have the same issue?
Here is a screenshot of what I did. Is this what you tried- successfully?
Thanks,
Andy
Yeah it seems to work, did you select any comment or panel to create the cluster ?
Remade it using your definition (with string panels), the problem is perhaps selecting a comment, or perhaps a problem with groups ?
Does the attached user object work ?
Edit: just tried again just selecting the group in your last attachment, and it works, weird.
there
Systemig,
Thanks for the response. I tested the Cluster you sent over and it works as it should! Thanks.
I am still stumped about why I can't get it to work on my end. Even after taking away groups and comments I seem to have the same problem.
Well, thanks for helping troubleshoot things for me. i appreciate it.
Maybe things will clear up for me if i Reinstall GH... or wait till the next update.
I can live without clusters for now.
Pieter,
Thanks for the suggestion.
Much cleaner than my original...It is probably smart to have it separate from the GCode Header too... I can simply add it into the Header.
I tried to make it even fancier with a counter that a Boolean would trigger...
I can't remember who made the counter originally, but I appreciate it!
Still having cluster issues. It may be a bug with my particular configuration.
The cluster you made worked great... as well as older clusters of my own.
is anybody out there having troubles with clusters or am I just going crazy?
Pieter thanks again. I can see the power of using the fX components with strings!
