Question about "baking"

I was about to bake my geometry, while I realized a critical mistake about the bake icon.

The icon shows a small graphic of what appears to be a fried egg...

However, the tool reads: "bake" -- I'm worried. This flaw may provide mass confusion in the future. I'm hoping this gets resolved eventually, maybe an icon of a cake, as in 'bake a cake' could hold a brighter future than this fried egg provides.

my earnest michael,

what is one of the main ingredients in the baked cake mixture you may ask yourself??

eggs. have you ever tried baking a cake without at least 2 or 3 eggs? garbage...and that is why the egg stands.

I have to agree with mike on this one. All of my baked files are saved in a folder named "fried geometries"

I would also like to see some sort of change in the bake icon because a picture of a fried egg could very well be missleading.

Maybe a loaf of bread with some steam coming off of it?..up for discussion

as steve has brought to my attention perhaps a "steamy loaf" would be a much more appropriate icon.

something along the lines of a brown loaf with wavy lines creating the effect that it is fresh.

should i begin working on the graphic for this? im sure it would ease a lot of pain and torment.

thoughts?

hmm....although the argument you pose is compelling to a certain degree and may even hold water, this program is not a tutorial in bakery.

this may or may not come as news to you, but not every single icon must parallel its literal term. in fact, i suggest you use what imagination you have.

in addition, a loaf of bread with scent curves may possibly infer acts other than baking...such as eating or smelling.

i hope you take all of these variables into consideration and just be content with all the the other privileges that grasshopper has to offer you.

Totally bringing this back to light because honestly, you're right Mike. Also to Derek's comment, idk about anyone else but I definitely don't use fried eggs to bake???
