algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Python : Import file, then update (delete and re-import) on file change

I am looking for a python import example to learn from. I would also like to write my own import component in Python to automate the import and update of dwg, obj, 3ds or  Sketchup models. Ideally, it would be fantastic to delete all and import every time the source file changed.

I'm absorbing as many tutorials and videos as I can. Any specific direction would be helpful.

Did you ever figure this out? I am trying to do exactly the same thing (import SU model specifically) and haven't gotten very far.

I'm looking for a import feature that lists all layers of a referenced 3dm file. This could then be used to filter layers for the import. Especially when you don't know the layer names you need to filter...
