algorithmic modeling for Rhino
i have been struggling with this problem for a while now.
im making a egg-ish shaped volume, but i have not yet been able to close it.
loft leaves the top and bottom open. capping it with a patch surface doesn't quite seem right.
i thought that since eventually i would want the frames to make a basket (physically), so i tried dividing the curves (section, and divide) and then interpolate to get the curves in the other direction. then somehow magically find a way to generate a surface that i wasnt able to in the first place :S. still cant do it.

use planar surface on top and bottom contour?
ofcourse, that is easily achieved by a closed loft. but that leaves the egg sliced. and the shell must be complete. what else?
ok im afraid i dont understand what you want to do. Closed loft does not achieve same thing as planar srf. Planars srf achieves same thing as 'cap hole'. Are you saying that you want to end up with a complete egg?
oh yea!!! closed loft does something else entirely. excuse me for making a fool of myself. but yes. the cap on top : i tried a planar one, and a curved one (using the trimmed wireframe as you can see in the screenshot) but i would like to end up with a complete egg.
dude! yeah! but how does this same definition not give me what i see in the screenshot? the upper curve parameter shows "null" .
can you explain what you did there with the flatten and grafts etc?
im a llittle slow with understanding this list management stuff :P
ahh right, sorry. That first curve is to determine the top and bottom point. So i selected the cure right in the middle that is kind vertical. Sort of the axis of the egg. Just set that curve.
To be honest dude, that definition i just did isn't the best way to learn list management, its not a very elegant solution.
