algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi.
I am wondering if anyone can figure out why my small definition does not work.
I am just trying to use the pullToSurf force component on a list of points along a curve, and I want to drag these towards a planar surface. But I get an error everytime I try to run the simulation.
I am using the points as input Geometry, but I have also tried to input the lines between the points - same error:
I hope that someone can help me.
Cheers Rasmus

Hi Seb.
Yes you are absolutely right, I am doing the same at the moment, just with surfaceCP.
The thing is that I would like this pulling force to be a part of a bigger particle system. The curve along the points is a part of a gridshell system, with connections, bending resistance etc. But since I do not have a way of setting the "torsional" resistance in Kangaroo (as far as I know), the curves does not end up being planar. That was why I wanted to "fake" the torsional resistance with the pull to a planar surf force.
Would you mind uploading you definition? I'll see if I can figure out what's wrong with your original def rather than cheating.
Do you have an example image of what you're trying to create? just to give a better idea of the target
Sure. It is a test of a CODABarcelonatech pavillion.
It starts from a planar grid and then the control points are moved closer together along some helplines. This creates a gridshell. I want to simulated the behavior of the shape if this was done with straight wood elements.
But I have not been able to figure out how to keep my elements "straight" or geodesic to the surface the elements create. In another way; simulation of the torsion resistance of the elements. This means the final elements from my definition is no longer straight.
