Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have used two methods to project a curve onto a surface. The standard project component and by extruding the curve into a brep and intersecting the result and target surface to get the projected curve.  The standard projection component is indeed faster. But still slower than I would like. Any other strategies I am not thinking of?

Any optimizations would depend on the specific case. How complex is your geometry? Is it curved or flat?

it's a flat curve projected onto a curved surface

So you can't just get away with projecting only the curve control-points then. I think you're out of luck...sorry.

Ah, no worries. I never had any anyway. ;)  Thanks David.
