Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to do something very simple and theres some small hitch in the definition, which I am pretty sure is something very stupid but I am not being able to figure it out.

I am trying to build a surface out of a grid which can be changed but keeping module dimansions constant. SO basically subdivision of surface happens based on dimension of subsurface and not number of it. Later i need to rotate the alternate subsurfaces in 2 different angles. I have figured out the later part of roating them at angles but somehow I am having a probelm with surface from grid component. When I connect the surface generated from this component to the divide and isotrim compoent and put in the same u value, I get a strange kind of division which is unequal parts. I have no clue whats happening. I am attaching both the files 1)surface from compoent 2)rotating subsurfaces.

Please if someone could help me solve the rpoblem with first and tel me an easier way to do the second (coz it only works with odd numbers :( ) would be great.

Its kinda urgent!! So please!!!! HELP!!!!

And please excuse me if I have put this up in a wrong place! :(

I guess Danny has got a smarter solution...  :-)

whoa!!!

that looks something! is there any way you can send the definition on lower version? i am not sure i can find all these components..!!! :O

and ya hopefully danny has one... m waiting for him to be back!!! ;) :)

you guys are super fast!!! wow...!

the components you get with the key word search! Do you know that one?

double click with the left mouse in the grasshopper window, enter a search keyword. For example the name on the component is "IN" - the component is the first one on the botton "INside"

ya ya... that one i know...

thanks :)

the yellow panles are panels. to get them:

1.take panel component from - params - special - panel

2.type the words True(enter) - False (must be in two lines)

3.Right mouse click on the panel - activate Multiline data

hey...

i tried the thing you sent but somehow does not work with me.. i am not sure whats happening.. can you pls send me the definition on lower version and rhino file or if thats not possible just a screenshot of rhino file so that i can understand whats happening there... in my definition it jus created 2 boxes at bottom of the surface..

sorry I do not have a lower version. I do not have changed somthing in the rhino file, so its still the same.
oh okay! thats fine.. i ll check up!! thanks a mil anyways!

the logic is:

1 picture: create the panels as normal

2 picture: create two boxes and find out which center points (of each panel) is inside the box.

3 picture: dipatch the panels to get only the wanted panels
