Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I am new to Grasshopper. As what I have attached below, I was trying to form a V-shaped suface from the point generated. I was using the 4pt surface tool in GH , however it gives me a fillet angle at the middle as shown which i want it be sharp indeed. Could anyone help me out?

Hi Corliss,

That's what I would expect to see from a 4pt srf. If you want a crease running between the two lower points then you could try two three pt srfs. Input D is optional on the 4ptSrf component.

HI Danny,

Thankyou very much for your reply.

But for the V-shape, it required 4 points, are there any other ways to create such a surface?

hey corliss,

i would suggest the same solution as Danny Boyes did. Could you may be be more specific or add a sketch to explain the output you are looking for.

Best Regards

Johannes

hi johannes,

Thankyou, Sorry for my confusing question. I sketched out what I want as result in rhino here as attached.

Thanks,

Corliss

I see now. Those are Trimmed Planar Surfaces. Create the lines between the points you want edges along and the supply them to a planarSrf component.

Originally I thought that you had the points on different Z planes and needed something completely different.

hey Danny,

Thankyou very much for your solution. I could finally finish my homework :)

Thanks,

Corliss
