preview issues when using vmware

I recently installed grasshopper and rhino on a new iMac and I am
running windows 7 through vmware... has anyone had issues with points
in grasshopper previewing in rhino? For example, if I divide a curve in
grasshopper, there are no previewed x's where the points should be. The
component is working: if I bake the points they show up in rhino, but
otherwise I can't get any working preview.

I couldn't figure how to fix the preview issue on the build of grasshopper I was working with at the time but I am now running 0.7.0055 and everything is fine. I'm not sure how current your build is but possibly try downloading the latest version?
