hi..i am trying to use geco to analyse heat gain and heat loss of my building in various cities in the world.

how do i go about it?

Heat gain and loss are not included components.

For this you would have to write your own, with the use of the LUA component for accessing all the functions inside ecotect.

Hi,

I have checked all of the example files and cannot get my walls and windows to be recognized at the same time. It is either one or the other. I have tried all connection options I can think of! This must be a simple connection error.

Hi,

I have been trying out the measuring points example but I am getting an error with the List length, it is inputting as 1 value instead of 196 values. What mistake am I making?

Hi,

ok what you should check:

2nd mesh export deletes the ceiling ([N] should be set different)
point export than deletes the windows ([N] should be set different)
the random generator creates only one number as you are feeding a domain in the list length component which creates the wrong kind of data

after you fix this the example will work as expected

I hope you can help me, I state that I am a neophyte GH + GEco, I would like to make an Incident Solar radiation Analysis so that the grid computing coincides only with the soil (a curved surface is not planar) but not to make the calculation to Ecotect insolation on buildings' surface. Here below is an example of analysis with ladybug (in the last image the simulation run on a planar grid). Thank you in advance! :)

Dear Luciano,

instead of using the inbuild grid of ectoect just recreate the terrainmesh with a flat mesh grid which is than transformed fitting your terrain.

I wondered, maybe a silly question, it's possible to change EcoSunRays origin point? (default is 0,0,0, i would like to move it near the geometry that will execute the study of shadows). Thank you in advance.

am having an error when loading grasshopper, and its coming from Geco, anyone knows why?

but the file exists...
