Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I am fairly new to grasshopper.  Currently, I am trying to populate a boundary/region (I dont know what an appropriate term would be) with points that I can later use some attractors on to get different densities of points within the region.  Can anyone point me to a tutorial or have a suggestion on how to go about doing this?

The region is super simple. Just a rectangle inside of a rectangle.  I don't think an image is really that necessary but i attached one anyway.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Stanley,

Use the "Populate 2D" component. Plug your rectangle into it's "R" plug.

Thanks for a fast reply.  Yea I tried that, but it populates the entire rectangle.  I the space between the 2 rectangles populated.

Create a single surface (PlanarSrf) out of both rectangles, then use Populate Geometry on the trimmed surface.

great, thank you both.

Ok, so i am obviously terrible with this.  I followed djordie's advice and i now have the proper area populated but i cant figure out how get get different densities with the point through attractor geometry.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again for all your help.
