algorithmic modeling for Rhino

There have been some complaints regarding the faint hatch-pattern that conveys preview-off mode. I'm currently rewriting a lot of graphics routines and I was wondering if the following (ghostly white) is a better choice:

Hi David,

Apart from the difficulty of display issues, a transparent component image is no good when you want to document a definition for example on real paper.

As you mentioned that besides a preview toggle there will be further component states like component active, I would recommend that you place two cirular dots (maybe appearing like colored leds) or square boxes (like checkboxes) that show the components states. This would leave room for the option of future color schemes (if users desire it).
