algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi I need some help understanding point types. I have created points a couple of different ways and and they seem to be incompatible with each other and generate runtime errors in the interpolate curve component when they are mixed together.

I have attached a definition that illustrates my problem:

the redish brown group creates an interpolated curve through an arching arrangement

the light blue group create an ellipse

the purple grouping allows me to section the ellipse

I want to replace z-elevation points of the redish group arch with points derived from the ellipse and its plane

the peach group illustrates the error. It is identical to redish group with the exception that I've swapped one of the points.

Does anyone know what I've done wrong?

Regards

Gavin

It's a data tree problem.  Best illustrated this way:

In the yellow panels, you can see that the fourth point has a different path from the first three, due to the different ways the points were created.  'IntCrv' is happy if you just flatten the 'Vertices' input.

Hi Joseph thank you for the help. Thanks for helping me to understand... I was looking at the problem in a different way.

I think you also had a hand in the purple curve sectioning group so double thanks are in order.

I have no idea what you are referring to?  But glad to help.  Cheers.

you showed a solution the shatter component:

Ah, two years ago!  You have quite a memory.  Not so sure I answered that one correctly...?  Might have been better to flatten the 'P' input or the 't' output of 'Crv CP' instead?  Oh well.
