Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I ignore if this has been already discussed, if that's the case sorry but I could not find the corresponding discussion.

I was browsing the plug-in section just to see what's new, hoping to find something useful because I have been working mostly with bare GH for some time now. Well I am sorry to say that the plug-in organization leaves a lot to be desired, if you happen to be new to the plugs then you will be greeted by a unsorted amount of groups, where it is very difficult to know what is interesting/useful (for me) and what not. Sometimes the only way to know what a specific plug does is clicking on the provided link and opening the web page of the plug developer. It is a bit frustrating to tell the truth. Plugs are also mixed with discussion groups too.

Would it be difficult to ask every group owner to conform to a standard header that includes in a few lines, if this is a user group or plug-in, in the case of a plug-in a basic category could be stated, followed by a short description. This can't be too hard, right?

I don't want to piss anyone, hope that this doesn't come as an angry rant. I am just trying to address a problem that maybe has jet to be discussed. I know that ning was not intended to be used like we are doing, but a bit communication could go a long way to address simple but frustrating problems like this.

To all the developers that take time to develop, share and maintain plug-ins, thanks a lot! Keep the good work. :)

Yeah it's one of the worst areas of GH. We hope to address it in GH2, the goal is to have a single interface where you can explore, install, uninstall and update plugins.

In the mean time. I think food4rhino is pretty organized. http://www.food4rhino.com/grasshopper-addons/last-updated?ufh

Ok, that looks like a good place to look in the meantime.

Was about to ask when is GH2 coming, but seems like a bit futile, right?

Thanks for your help
