Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm really new to grasshopper and am struggling with placing a map underneath a set of plotted coordinates showing specific points within each London borough.

I have created a map in Rhino, but it's not to a scale and I can't work out how to place it in the correct position.

Also the coordinates seem to be distorted because of the curvature of the earth, but the map is flat, is there something I can do to adjust this?

I have been struggling with this for so long, really can't work out what to do. Can anyone help me??

Thanks

Lucy

i have now

sorry does that mean it works or doesn't?

Was I meant to change the panel from file location to say the download file path?

Because it didn't work form doing that, both are still red

the fact that both are red would suggest something a bit more severe. Are you running the latest versions of Rhino and GH

When I hover over the ESRI REST this comes up:

1. Solution exception:Could not load file or assembly 'Newtonsoft.Json, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=30ad4fe6b2a6aeed' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

And when i hover over the get REST raster, this comes up:

1. Solution exception:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Does that help?

I've got Rhino 5, and i've just downloaded grasshopper onto this computer, so im pretty sure its the latest version.

When you installed Heron, did you also extract all the other DLLs?

I only put the Heron icon file into the component folder of grasshopper, should i have put them all in there?

Yes. I made a sub-folder in the component folder so as to keep them altogether.

Now the Get rest raster has worked, but the surface mapping is now red and its saying: 1. Data conversion failed from Curve to Mesh

Any ideas?

Was i meant to set the London boroughs to the curve?

No. It should have converted them.

I guess what the component needs is Meshes so either generate them in Rhino or in GH using the Mesh Creation tools. But you need to make sure that they are the same size as the curves I have otherwise the resolution might cause issues.

'm working flat out to finish by lunch after which I have no idea when I will be on a computer for the next four days.
