Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I am a complete beginner at Grasshopper....and I really need some help with a problem please.

I am trying to make a series of vertical, parametric 'fins' (sort-of like sunshades) that follow the contour of the building in the rhino file; I have no idea where to start....

I would really like it if the fins were moveable; maybe through the use of a slider to vary the rotation of fins on the building in a randomised way.

I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions, please!

Cheers

Miss Go-Lightly,

Here's one way to get vertical fins swept along the surface of your building.

Just right click on the Srf component and Select one surface, then play around with changing the Fin Base curve and the number of fins.

To build on the model and make the fins movable, take a look at the Graph Mapper component and adjust the x values of the points that make up the fin's rail curve.

Cheers, Ben
